EM Research Features Miniature Frequency Synthesizers

EM Research announced it will feature the SLX and LX Series of miniature frequency synthesizers that are custom‐designed to utilize 3 or 3.3 V inputs to meet the stringent low power consumption requirements of short range and battery powered wireless systems. The SLX and LX units feature extremely low power consumption (900 MHz, +3 V at 15 mA, typical) and typical power outputs of ‐5 dBm (up to +7 dBm, optional). The units also feature low spurious, low harmonics and exceptionally low phase noise. Available with operating temperature ranges of ‐40° to +85°C, the units are designed as cost‐effective, surface‐mount packages and can be fixed‐frequency or programmable in bands from 50 MHz to 6 GHz, with extremely low phase noise (<‐110 dBc/Hz at 100 kHz offset, at 400 MHz). The SLX units are housed in an ultra‐miniature surface‐mount package of 0.5" x 0.5" x 0.15" (12.7 x 12.7 x 3.8 mm), while the LX is housed in a slightly larger package of 0.75" x 0.75" x 0.15" (19 x 19 x 3.8 mm). The SLX and LX are supplied in high‐volume on tape‐and‐reel.

Typical applications include: Wireless receivers and transmitters, RF transceivers, WLAN, CATV, DA/AD converters, base stations, ISM band, short range devices, wireless sensors, automatic meter‐reading and other battery powered wireless systems.
