MFG Galileo Composites Relocates, Expands Capacity

MFG Galileo Composites, a specialist in the design and manufacturing of composite radomes and reflectors, announced that manufacturing operations for the company have been relocated from Sparks, NV to Opp, AL. The new built-to-spec facility adds manufacturing capacity and processing capabilities to accommodate increased demand, as well as improving accessibility to a significant percentage of their customer base. The company will maintain a satellite office in Reno, NV, where key engineering and administrative team members will continue to operate from.

The new location is accessible via numerous regional hubs, including Atlanta, Memphis, New Orleans, Birmingham and Pensacola. Opp is also home to sister company MFG Alabama, a manufacturer of large molded composite parts for renewable energy and other applications.

Clint Lackey, General Manager of MFG Galileo, explains, “This new facility is world class in terms of dedicated manufacturing floor space and state-of-the-art processing capabilities for composite radomes, reflectors, shelters and related products. We anticipate continued domestic and international sales growth in 2009 and 2010, and expect to quickly absorb the expanded capacity.”

MFG Galileo ground-based and shipboard radomes support L-band through Ka-band applications. The company has an installed base of more than 500 radomes around the world and is part of Molded Fiber Glass Companies (Ashtabula, OH).

The new plant is located at 18361 Galileo Drive, Opp, AL 36467.
